God loves everyone!

Tabernacle of Jesus

Bishop James L. Dixon arrived in Columbus in 1999 with only a dream. Today, that dream is coming true. He is shepherding a flock of almost 100, who meet in the Linden Lutheran Church building. At his right hand is his wife, Charlotte.

Bishop Dixon was a member of the Tabernacle of Jesus in New Jersey. He felt the call of the Lord and went to the Eastern Bible Institute, of New Jersey, where he was graduated in 1993.

He came to Columbus as a development pastor with the backing of his home church. He knocked on a lot of doors, inviting people to his new church, named after his home church, Tabernacle of Jesus. He passed out literature, made phone calls and talked to a lot of people.

Today the Tabernacle rolls list more than 50 adults and about 40 children.  He believes the group’s future is bright, because it is strong and the children ensure the future. He lists weekly attendance at about 80.

Tabernacle services are at 12:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Sunday and Bible studies are Tuesday at 7:30, Wednesday at 7:30 and Saturday at 10 a.m.

He believes the group will grow by members spreading the word and bringing guests to the many services.

Bishop Dixon wishes to thank Linden Lutheran for their hospitality and for the really great treatment they have received from the Linden Lutheran people.
