God loves everyone!

Linden Lutheran Church is pleased to announce that Rev. Dr. G. Karl Gaston has accepted the congregation's call as its new pastor. He was installed on August 31, 2008.

Pastor Karl has been in the ministry for 34 years, first as a pastor in the American Lutheran Church and now in the ELCA.  Born in Canal Winchester, Ohio, he graduated from Capital University with a degree in philosophy.  He then received his Master of Divinity from Lutheran Theological Seminary (now Trinity Lutheran Seminary) and his Doctor in Ministry degree from the Lutheran School of Theology in Chicago, with an emphasis on Pastoral Theology and Mission Leadership.  He and his wife Jeanne have three children and five grandchildren.

recently, Pastor Karl served as interim pastor at  Resurrection Lutheran Church in Hilliard, Ohio, and before that as pastor of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Massillon, Ohio.

Pastor Karl writes,  "I am excited about joining you at Linden Lutheran Church.  I believe God has called us to be together in order to accomplish what he wants in this time and place. I trust He will reveal His will to us as we faithfully serve Jesus Christ and His saving Gospel.  Jesus has promised to be with us and bless us.  I trust that promise.  I want to be people who love Jesus and speak His name boldly without shame by sharing with others the love we have received from God.

"St. Paul writes in 2 Corinthians 4:16-18, 'So we do not lose heart.  Even though our outer nature is wasting away, our inner nature is being renewed day by day...because we look not at what can be seen but at what cannot be seen; for what can be seen is temporary, but what cannot be seen is eternal.'

"May God bless our time together!"
